Woodwise are working in
partnership with Bristol Joiners and local Councils
who are committed to expanding the use of renewable energy
to make Bristol and its surroundings a greener place to
live. Woodwise have researched and funded this project with
the ambition of furthering the recycling of wood offcuts
from the construction industry into sustainable energy in the
form of wood fuel.
We are looking for other like-minded businesses who wish to
recycle their untreated wood offcuts and sawdust into
free-of-charge wood
fuel to support schools and community facilities in and
around Bristol.
| Participation in the scheme requires only
your active commitment to implement recycling practices in
your business, using our specially designed wheelie bins to
collect waste wood. The scheme is a really positive way for
your company to demonstrate its corporate social
responsibility. All partners receive a Woodwise plaque to
display on their premises and your company logo will be featured
here on the Woodwise web site. |
 |
Woodwise will:
- Collect wood offcuts free of charge from partners
- Convert wood offcuts into wood fuel for use in biomass
boilers
- Arrange distribution of the processed wood fuel
- Provide the wood fuel, free of charge, for use by local
community facilities
The collected wood is returned to the Woodwise site at the Harvey Shopfitters premises by using
empty vehicles returning to the yard. This ensures very low
transportation costs and emissions for the process.
